RED BANK, NJ, November 2, 2016 – Oriana Lamarca, an international designer of one-of-a-kind semi-precious gemstone bracelets and necklaces, announced today that Oriana has designed an exquisite, custom bracelet in support of the Brain Tumor Association’s New York City Walk that will be sold with proceeds going to the fund.
The BT5K 2016 is taking place on November 13, 2016 at Hudson River Park Pier 84 in New York, NY with a start time of 9:00 a.m.
BT5K New York City is part of the American Brain Tumor Association’s (ABTA) signature Breakthrough for Brain Tumors 5K series. Currently, more than 700,000 people in the U.S. are living with a brain tumor diagnosis. Support allows the ABTA to fund desperately needed brain tumor research, patient programs and support services.
“Vanessa's #SQUAD, which has already raised over $5,000 will be joining forces and running on November 13th in an effort not only to raise awareness but to celebrate Vanessa’s successful end of treatment,” commented Vanessa’s sister, Julia Merenda.
On December 14, 2015 Vanessa Merenda, at the age of 28, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The tumor was a medulloblastoma, a malignant tumor found mostly in children. After surgery and a year of a rigorous regimen consisting of chemotherapy and radiation, Vanessa is on the mend.
Oriana Lamarca organized the bracelet campaign with the help of Julia Merenda. The arm candy bracelet was designed to signify Vanessa’s strength and courage in her fight against cancer and a start to a new life. Oriana designed the bracelet for Vanessa by selected soft multi-tone grey quartz, as grey represents Brain Cancer Awareness. She added a rose gold Lotus charm, as the lotus symbolizes new beginnings. The Vanessa bracelet can be purchased online for $40 with proceeds going directly toward the fund.
“I’m delighted to support this life-saving event for brain tumor research and hope this may encourage others to join in and contribute to this worthy cause. Buying a bracelet and wearing it with pride knowing that the proceeds of the sale are helping others while getting a little piece of arm candy in the process,” said Oriana Lamarca.
Oriana’s collection of bold, colorful bracelets, as well as a new line of velvet chokers is a complement to the Arm Party style that has become her signature and sparked the hashtag #addictedtoarmcandy.
“The jewelry you wear should make you feel unique and, at the same time, communicate your personality with elegance and sophistication,” continued Lamarca. Her first collection of one-of-a-kind, stackable bracelets and coordinating necklaces quickly became fashion favorites and led to her launching her online boutique a year ago.
“This first of its kind bracelet marking this important event, will stand on its own to signify the power of contributing to such a worthy cause and doing good for those in need,” Lamarca said.
